Welcome To My Home! Home Tour: Gift Closet/Wrapping Station

Welcome to the second edition of my Home Tour series! I figured the easiest thing to do would be to take you around to some of the parts of the office that require a bit more detail before moving onto the rest of the house. So, today I’ll be showing you my Gift Closet and Wrapping Station!

This is my Wrapping Station. I purchased the storage cart on Amazon. I use this to keeo everything handy when a birthday or holiday rolls around. I store some of my wrapping paper rolls in the top compartment, as well as some smaller gift bags, gift card holders, decorative packing tape, and some curling ribbon.

There are also some shelving sections to this cart. I keep some ribbon spools on the top shelf, and some extra greeting and Thank You cards, tape and tissue paper on the bottom shelf.

There are two fabric drawers that pull out on the very bottom of this storage cart. In the top drawer, I keep gift tags and in the bottom drawer, I keep gift bows.

This cart has come in handy when I have a bunch of gifts that need to be wrapped. It has wheels on it as well, so I can just roll it out to the living room when I have a lot that needs to be done. 🙂

The closet is my office is used as a gift closet. I keep my eye out year-round for good deals on toys and possible gifts for my kids and my family. If I find gifts at the right price point, I purchase it and it lives here until the holiday or birthday rolls around. It’s a great way to save money and have an amazing Christmas (we always go way over the top, like obnoxiously so) without breaking the bank in December.

Do any of you have a gift wrapping station? If so, what do you think of it? Do you find it helpful during the holidays?
Do any of you have a gift closet? Why or why not?

Welcome To My Home! Home Tour: Office

Hey everyone! Welcome to my Home Tour Series, where I show you a tour of my home. You can see what rooms we have and how we have them set up, how we organize everything and anything else your nosy little heart desires. I’m going to start off this series with a tour of my Office, the brainpower behind everything that happens in my house.

My office is located just off of our front door. It’s considered a bedroom because it does have a closet in it, but since every other bedroom is upstairs, we decided to turn this room into a multipurpose office. (We don’t like having bedrooms on separate floors of the house because of the kids).

This isn’t the best picture (excuse the lighting), but this is an overview of the office. You can see my craft area and a portion of our computer desk.

My office is a multipurpose room that houses many of our needs. I have a couple of bookshelves for my books, as well as a shelf that I use for my Monthly Freebies. I have my gift wrapping station right next to the Gift Closet. I have the Kids Crafting Corner where we store all of the crafting and educational stuff for the kids. I have my arts and crafts storage area, which is jam-packed with almost anything you could want to get creative. I have some cube organizers for back-up office supplies storage. I have my computer desk which provides some necessary storage for day-to-day items.

I have a lot on the walls in this room; a map, a framed Tokidoki poster, a Disney Princess calendar, a crossstitch, and a few other bobs that make me happy to spend so much time in here! This room is used for a multitude of projects; holidays, office work, crafting, teaching the kids. It’s so important to me to have everything organized and easy to locate.

I will be doing some House Tour posts on a couple of the sections in this room to provide a bit more details and organization tips.

Do you have an office? What does your office look like? What do you use it for?

Thanks for joining me on the first installment of my Home Tour,  I hope to see you again for the next room!

Meet The Messmers.

Hey everyone! Welcome to Mommy Minute, because every mom just needs a minute. I started this blog as a way to share my mommy minute with other mommies. This blog will feature posts such as product reviews, subscription box unboxings, cleaning posts, organizing posts, DIY projects, family vlogs, videos from my Youtube channel, and anything else that makes me want to take a minute. (See guys, not every minute that mommy needs is a stressful minute. Sometimes we just want to reflect. Take note, husbands.)

My family consists of:

myself, Shandi Messmer: I am 24 years old (with a birthday this month!), married to the most amazing and helpful husband in the world. We have two (and a half) beautiful children. We live in a gorgeous house that we had custom built in a beautiful new development in the sunshine state of Arizona. I am a SAHM. I am seriously one of the luckiest people ever. I love subscription boxes. They make the mundane task of getting the mail fun + add a nice little bonus of surprises all month long. It’s seriously like buying yourself a mystery present. I currently subscribe to over 20 boxes each month and I can’t wait to share them with you! I am very OCD and am an organizing freak. I love coming up with new systems to make our lives easier and my house look nicer. I love doing DIY projects, especially with my kids. We do go out and have some adventures from time to time. Those are always a blast and I’ve been looking for a reason to make some home movie-esque vlogs about them. I love shopping, but even more so, I love finding really good deals. I might have a slight shopping problem, but admitting you have a problem is the first step, right?

my husband, Kylor Messmer: Kylor does not like his age being discussed, so lets just say he is the older out of the pair. He works as a Finance Manager at a local car dealership, a job that he is weirdly in love with. He loves spending time with the family, especially when our kids want to play on his guitar or dance to really loud music. He loves cars, alcohol, Marvel movies and Gibson guitars. He’s a simple man with fancy taste. And the love of my life. <3.

my son, Gibson Messmer: Gibson is turning 3 years old this November and is a spirited wild child. He aims to be exactly like his dad, down to refusing t-shirts most days in exchange for collared button-up shirts. I’m pretty sure if they made cuff links for the 3-year old aspiring businessman, he would be first in line. He loves Mickey Mouse and Blaze the Monster Machine, as well as helping to cook and clean. He is an amazing big brother and is always right there to help his little sister and tuck her in at night. He recently completed potty training and has very minimal accidents, which makes for a very happy mommy.

my daughter, Monroe Messmer: Monroe is 16 months old and, more then anything, loves annoying her older brother. She loves princesses and her favorite Piggy Bank toy. She prefers to watch SpongeBob SquarePants and Despicable Me. She is obsessed with putting on and taking off her shoes and hates having her hair done in the mornings. She recently moved into a “big girl” bed, and is not super thrilled with the idea of losing her crib.

our newest addition, Ramsey Messmer: a beautiful little girl, expected in late January of 2018. I am currently 21 weeks, 6 days pregnant. We have decided on a nursery themed and are in the process of setting her new room up. You can check my Instagram at the top of this page for pictures of our baby shopping process :). We are so thrilled to be adding our third child to our family. Discussions of a fourth child of still taking place, so for now, I’m just focused on enjoying this pregnancy and spending time with my kids before my youngest becomes a Big Sister.

I’m very active on my Social Media accounts, so if you’d like to follow our families story, or just wanna spend a few mommy minutes with us, stick around and check out the social media accounts listed above. I can’t wait to see what the future brings for the Messmers ❤
